A new year means new goals, right? Well I finally sat down and laid out exactly what I'm wanting from my business this year, but also my photography in general as well. I've heard that part of goal setting is telling others about them. Then you have cheerleaders along your way and you feel more of an obligation to do them. So here they are. Make sure I do them. ;)
JayCee Photography 2015 Goals
1. Have 52 Sessions in Total (5 Weddings, 27 Engagement/Couple sessions, 12 Senior Sessions, and 8 Family Session)
So, I know this sounds like a lot. BUT I know I can do it because I had over 20 sessions within 6 months last year. All I need is 6 extra sessions per 6 months. I can totally do this. :)
2. Learn to Love Marketing
I really struggle with this. Part of the issue is I've never taken the time to learn how to market. I have already invested so much time and even money into learning marketing this year and it's paying off. I am learning and eventually I will thoroughly enjoy doing it.
3. Get to know my Clients
Majority of my clients have been family and friends, but the one's who weren't I felt it wasn't as personal as I'd like it to be. I really hope I can take the time to get to know my clients. I bet my sessions will even go better if I do.
4. Attend 2 Workshops
I was able to attend one last year, and I've already gone to few online, but I hope I can go to two physically this year. They always teach me something I need at the time and I have a new outlook on photography.
Personal Photography 2015 Goals
1. Pick up my Camera More
I am horrible at this. So horrible. I will pick up my camera maybe every day for about 4 days and then it goes untouched for a week or two. Documenting my life is very important and I believe photos do tell a story that words sometimes can't. So I say more, but I really hope it's everyday.
2. Put my Photos Somewhere
I have so many untouched personal photos on my laptop. This year I want to edit the photos I take and make an album or a book or something to have them all tangible. I want to hold my photos. I want to look back at them and remember them. Photos on my hard drive do nothing.
3. Experiment
I'm ready to try new things. I'm ready to get creative with my photography. I get caught in this spot where I think that I can't try anything new or that it's wrong to. I hope to go outside my comfort zone and create photos unlike any others.

365 Photo Challenge
So I wanted to attempt the 365 photo challenge. And I did, but I kind of failed. After so many road closures and false alarms to leave for Rexburg, my camera stayed packed up for the most part. And now I'm here at school every day from 9am to 7pm. Anyways, I will still be attempting, but most likely won't be getting a photo every day with this schedule. But a few from this past week.
I recommend this challenge to everyone. I am able to recognize how beautiful every day life is.
P.S. Sorry for the recent black and white obsession.
