14 Things That Happened In 2014

2014 was so much more than what I had ever expected. So here are 14 events of 2014.

1. I finished my 4th and 5th semesters of college.
Gosh. I never thought I'd reach this mile marker of being half way done with my Bachelor's degree. I changed my major 4 different times which did make my semester planning difficult. But hey, I'll have my Bachelor's in Business Management with an emphasis in Marketing by the end of 2016.

2. My best friend and sister got married.
During Jodi's first year at BYU-Idaho we got super close. I swear we were over at each others' apartments every day. Even though we got separate apartments to have our own space. Jodi and Jayden were sealed for time and all eternity on May 27, 2014. I do miss being only a couple blocks away, but I couldn't be happier for them.

3. I said goodbye for what I thought would be 2 years.
Jacob Peterson left for the MTC June 11, 2014. It was literally my hardest goodbye ever. Jacob was only out a couple weeks before being sent home for medical reasons. He prayed about what to do and got the answer to stay home. I still am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. I know he touched lives within those weeks, and I know he's home for a reason as well.

4. I was the Office Assistant of Ross Construction.
My mother began working for Sunrise Engineering so she is gone during the day. When she asked me to start answering the business phone, it was nerve-racking. I seriously couldn't calm myself down from it. But after about the 10th call, I was a pro. I now sit in the office in the mornings filing, answering phone calls, and entering in bills, and then get called to go help in the afternoon with mowing or landscaping jobs. I love it. :)

5. I had a major break through with my business JayCee Photography.
After having my first paid session, I really started focusing on it. I studied, I practiced and I went to my first workshop InspireU. It was exactly what I needed. I was able to understand my camera better and had more confidence in my work. I also had over 20 sessions within 6 months!

6. I got engaged.
On July 4, 2014, Jacob Jesse proposed to me right outside the Idaho Falls Temple grounds during the firework show. It was amazing. And he picked out my ring completely on his own and his choice was perfection.

7. Restored our first table.
My mom found the cutest table at Goodwill for $65. We went ahead and bought it since Jake said we could restore it. I had a hard time seeing his vision, but in the end, it looked spectacular. We can't use it quite yet because we will be living in a camper for awhile, but I can't wait to use our very own table we restored ourselves!

8. Over 5,000 miles in road trips with Jacob.
Jacob and I had so many road trips this year. We went to Jenni and Rods wedding, went to April 2014 conference, and took multiple trips to Cheyenne and Rexburg. I love the time we get during road trips. It's very special to me and I always look forward to trips with Jake.

9. Had a Tonsillectomy.
I got my tonsil removed on August 13, 2014. It was one of my biggest fears. I cried before the surgery and told my nurse I was afraid of not waking up. The anesthesiologist then arrived, said a few things, and I was out. When I woke up I couldn't help but be so happy and appreciative. I apparently said "thank you" too many times to my nurse that it annoyed her slightly. But seriously, I was thrilled to be alive. And I was lucky enough to have Jacob to take care of me everyday after work.

10. Received my endowments.
I went and received my own endowments on September 6, 2014 in the Denver Temple. It was one of the most amazing and spiritual experiences of my life. Every time I attend the temple it is exactly what I need at that time. I love the peace and comfort I can have going there. I'm so thankful for this opportunity I had and still have every time I go to the temple.

11. Had a job offer on the spot.
Brittney Case tag me in a post about someone looking for a photographer. I contacted the lady and it was actually for a newborn photography company. The manager of the business then contacted me saying she had viewed my work and thought I would be a great addition to their staff. She then told me the details of the job and offered it to me right then! Over the phone! It really was a grew opportunity but they wanted copyrights over my photos which was something I wasn't willing to give up. But it was way cool to have my first job interview and job offer all within 30 minutes.

12. Continued staying out of debt and free of any student loans.
After working my butt off for another summer, I still have remained out of student debt which is a huge blessing! It's looking like we will have just enough to cover this upcoming Winter semester as well. I'm so grateful for my parents who taught me the value of hard work and money management at a young age. Thanks Mom and Dad!

13. My Great Grandma turned 100.
My Great Grandma Ross turned 100 on November 11, 2014. We had a huge party on November 8 for a celebration. It was wonderful seeing her healthy and happy. She thoroughly enjoyed herself and most of the Ross family was able to come into town for it as well. Great Grandma passed away on December 18. She is having a happy reunion with Great Grandpa Ross, I'm sure of it. :)

14. Married my best friend.
December 20, 2014 I married Jacob Jesse Peterson in the Idaho Falls Temple. It was a perfect day with family and friends, and not to mention I had great photographers, Darcy Case and Jayden Jenkins. I am so excited to be spending eternity with my best friend. And to think my first New Year's Eve kiss will be with my husband makes 2015 our year. :)

December 29, 2014

12.20.14

I can't believe it! After almost 2 years of dreaming, I finally married my favorite December 20, 2014. Talk about an adventure. But I wouldn't want it any other way. :)

My Aunt, Darcy Case of Ruby Plum Photo, was our photographer and this was our stunning Sneak Peek. I cannot stop staring at it! She never ceases to amaze me with her talent. (Side note: I did an Internship with her two summers ago for photography. She's taught me everything I know!)

We spent two nights in Idaho Falls and then took turns driving the 8 hours to my parents cabin by Laramie with only a few icy spots along the way.

|| He's literally the cutest! ||

We set up our tree up at the cabin, but actually spent most the week at my parents house since roads were closed and it snowed about 8in. It was nice having a white Christmas.

And it's been a blast getting in family time. I have missed them like crazy!

Just a friendly, competitive game of Words With Friend.

This week has been so great. I love my family as well as the family I married into. :)
